Boys Noize – “Girl Crush” (Feat. Rico Nasty)
Are we about due for a blog-house revival? It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, would it? Alexander Ridha, the German DJ and producer who records as Boys Noize, came up in the that whole mid-'00s wave, and he's been working steadily ever since. He's also become a prolific collaborator — working with Frank Ocean on "DHL" and with Skrillex and Ty Dolla $ign on "Midnight Hour." Today, Boys Noize has a new single out, a collaboration with the festival-wrecking rap energy-bomb Rico Nasty. The combination makes sense, Rico Nasty's single greatest collaborator is Kenny Beats, a veteran of the EDM universe, and Boys Noize records often have the kind of trashy energy that she can project. But "Girl Crush," the new Boys Noize/Rico collab, isn't really a Rico Nasty song. She doesn't rap in it. Instead, she purrs about a girl she likes over a pulsing electro beat. It's not doing a lot for me right now, but I could imagine it going off late at night in a room where everybody is on cocaine.

AP Explains: Why Syria's M5 is Assad's highway to victory
BEIRUT (AP) — It is arguably one of the most coveted prizes in Syria’s civil war, and after eight years of fighting, Syrian President Bashar Assad has got it back. The Damascus-Aleppo highway, or the M5, is known to Syrians simply as the “International Road.” Cutting through Syria's major cities, the motorway is key to who controls the country.Assad gradually lost control over the M5 from 2012, when various rebel groups fighting to topple him began seizing parts of the country.Protests against his family's rule had erupted the year before amid a wave of uprisings in the Arab world. This soon turned into a civil war, following a brutal government crackdown on dissent and the intervention of foreign powers in th

Coronavirus cases surge for 2nd day after China revises diagnosis criteria
China on Friday confirmed another 5,090 coronavirus infections, and 121 more deaths, bringing the death toll near 1,400, according to The Associated Press. The country has seen a surge in new cases for the last two days since health authorities in Hubei province, the epicenter of the outbreak, changed the way they identify infections, with most of the new cases based on a physician's diagnosis before lab results come back. The surge in confirmed cases has dampened hope that the spread of the flu-like virus was slowing, but health experts say the higher numbers are partly due to the new methodology. "I suspect but can't be certain that the underlying trend is still downwards," said Paul Hunter, a professor of health protection at the University of East Anglia in England. Harold Maass

Rudy Giuliani has a fresh crop of claims about Democrats' dealings in Ukraine — an iPad full of "proof" he won't let anyone else see. The former New York City mayor made a Fox Business appearance on Thursday night to push any corruption in Ukraine on Democrats' shoulders. "They're going to be very surprised when they see the report that I have" apparently revealing an "unaccounted for" $5.3 billion in Ukraine aid during the Obama administration, Giuliani said, not exactly specifying who "they" are. That aid gap apparently explains "how all those oligarchs become oligarchs," Giuliani said, making some chomping noises and motions to imitate his interpretation of how money is laundered. Giuliani goes on to mention this mysterious report over and over, which apparently shows how "not just" the Bidens engaged in a "huge Democratic scam" in Ukraine. "That's why they're so crazy on the subject of Ukraine, and why they want to literally kill me," Giuliani said of Democrats, without any proof of this murderous plot. "I…
